The Wine

QVVV Wines

The QVVV farm is situated in one of the oldest known wine regions in Europe, Dão (DOC). It has 9 hectares of terraced vineyard planted in 2010 and 2011 and grows only Portuguese grapes from the Dão region with red varietals such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro and Alicante Bouchet and white varietals such as Encruzado and Verdelho.

We have partnered with the heirs of a well-known banking family, the Borges e Irmão family, allowing us use of all the wine-making facilities, including the cellar and 15 extra hectares of vineyard, all located a stone’s throw away from the original QVVV plot.

Our respected wine master, Patrícia Santos, is highly experienced in the Dão region, with its varietals and weather patterns, and has been able to maximize the quality of the wine produced, creating deeply coloured and aromatic wines with an abundance of flavours and intensities.

We are a boutique and family-run vineyard and, although low in quantity, we strive for excellent high-quality wines made from only Portuguese grapes. We want to help spread the word about Portuguese wine and bring this well-celebrated wine region back to the palates of wine-connoisseurs around the world.
